Experience and Background
Francesca joined Burlingtons in February 2019 as a Partner. She has over 12 years’ experience acting for businesses and individuals resolving disputes, protecting assets and preserving reputations. In that time she has become a trusted advisor to many business owners.
Francesca’s clients include high-net worth individuals and SMEs from a number of sectors including media and entertainment, logistics, finance, insolvency and advisory, construction and real estate. She deals with a full range of disputes and her work often involves complex international elements.
She has specialist experience in international Arbitration matters. Partner on current arbitration: [Former Equity Partner] v [Russian Professional Services Firm] LCIA Arbitration, 2017 ongoing. Acting for the Claimant in a claim concerning termination of an Equity Partner from a Russian professional services firm.
Francesca acts on a range of commercial disputes to include banking litigation, property fraud, freezing injunctions and asset tracing, Intellectual Property disputes, defamation, professional negligence, insolvency, contested probate, shareholder and commercial contract disputes. She acts on matrimonial matters to include financial remedy cases and children’s proceedings.
Francesca has previously acted for a property investment firm in the largest fraud case ever brought against a large UK bank, for the mis-selling of a hedging instrument linked to LIBOR which left the London headquarters of a multinational corporation in the hands of the receivers. This was reported in The Times. Her most recent win in the London Courts was against Fraser and Fraser Genealogists (as featured on BBC One Heir Hunters) in a contested probate action which gained a lot of media attention. Francesca was quoted in The Times, Telegraph Money and Jewish Chronicle.
Francesca trained at Maclay Murray and Spens LLP (London office) (top 100 UK law firm) and qualified in October 2009. She graduated from Durham University (BSc) and completed the GDL and LPC at College of Law, London (LLB 2:1).
Away from work, Francesca enjoys tennis, swimming, skiing and travel.
