Service highlights

We represent government institutions, listed and independent oil and gas companies and work on projects all over the world, with a particular concentration on the CIS region, where our team has worked on projects such as the Karachaganak field in Kazakhstan, one of the largest oil discoveries in the world.
We have in-depth familiarity with how governments across the world contract with upstream energy companies, whether in relation to licensing, production sharing contracts (PSC) or on a concession basis. We have expertise in structuring large international projects including tax and economic analysis and double tax treaty impact on large infra-structure projects.
We have extensive experience drafting and negotiating a multitude of agreements specific to the energy sector, including joint operating agreements, unitisation agreements, product transportation agreements, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) agreements, tie-in agreements, sales agreements and decommissioning agreements, as well as project and corporate finance agreements.
We have well established working relationships with the Oil and Gas Authority in the UK and have worked with the Commonwealth Secretariat and other government institutions around the world, such as Iceland where we advised the Icelandic government in relation to their first licensing round.
