Burlingtons assists clients with the preparation and submission of immigration applications. We advise clients on a range of visa applications and work closely with our clients to find the best way forward in their individual case. We also assist with related UK Relationship and Family Visas as well as applying for UK Settlement and Citizenship.
We are happy to offer an initial free consultation where we can discuss all your needs and concerns and decide the best way forward for you.
Our hourly rates range between £350 - £600 depending on the seniority of the fee earner undertaking the work. Where possible we will use more junior fee earners (supervised by a partner) to keep costs at a minimum.

The fee estimates set out above are subject to the number of hours spent on the matter. The time spent is dependent on a number of factors including the complexity of the facts relating to your individual case. Every application is different and we can give you a more accurate estimate once we have more information about your specific case. The above fees are exclusive of VAT which will be added to our invoices at the rate of 20% where applicable.
The number of documents required to support an application, whether they need to be translated, whether anything is missing and how long it will take to obtain any missing documents all effect the number of hours spent.
You can help us reduce the number of hours spent on a matter by providing us with all the relevant documents from the outset. Should you withhold any information from us or fail to disclose a document, not only may this negatively affect the outcome of your application, but it may also result in an increase in time spent.
We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application but we can advise you on expected estimated timeframe.
Please note that all fee estimates contained on this page are exclusive of the following:
VAT (where applicable).
Any Home Office fees for making the application (which can be found at the government website). You will pay this to the Home Office directly as part of the application process.
Attendance at a Home Office interview.
Any other fees (known as disbursements) payable to a third party. Such third parties may include interpreters, independent experts or counsel. Generally, we will handle the payment of these disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process, however we would usually ask for money on account to cover these fees.
Any additional expenses/disbursements incurred by us in relation to your case including (but not limited to) any travel expenses, printing expenses or expenses incurred in using a conference call facility.
Please also note that in the event that the Home Office refuses your application, advice and assistance in relation to any appeal is not included in the fee estimates set out above, but will be in addition to such estimates. We will advise you of the likely cost at the time should that situation arise. The costs will be dependant on the exact circumstances in each case.
Should an interpreter be required, we will obtain an estimate for their costs at the outset of the matter. The number of hours needed with an interpreter will vary on the complexities of the case.
You are under no obligation to use an interpreter recommended by us and are free to make alternative arrangements should you so wish.
Should the facts of your matter be particularly complex and require more specialist legal guidance, we may recommend that we instruct counsel to advise on your matter. Counsel (or barristers) are experts in their specialist area of law. Should we envisage the need to instruct counsel on a matter, we will obtain an estimate of their costs and discuss these with you before proceeding.
It is worth being aware that although there are legal requirements for visa applications, very often there are administrative or political factors which may affect the decision that the Home Office arrives at. To that end, there is always a chance that the visa application may be refused even if you appear to have met all the requirements. With this in mind, we will aim to maximise your chance of success by ensuring that all the documentation has been thoroughly checked and that there do not appear to be any outstanding issues.
