Guakhar specialises in debt capital markets, securities markets and international private law and is based in our Almaty representative office.
Prior to joining LLP Burlingtons Kazakhstan, Gaukhar worked for the largest Kazakhstan financial institutions for over 12 years where she supervised issues in relation to securities, attraction of large investments, and co-operation with international financial institutions and rating agencies.
Gaukhar has also advised on the placement of one of the first issues of eurobonds for one of the largest banks in Kazakhstan for $1.5 billion. She also participated in structuring a business model to attract investments using the existing international conventions in the sphere of the taxation, carried out replacement, repayment and cancellation of earlier issued eurobonds of a subsidiary bank.
Gaukhar has a wealth of practical experience in preparation and conducting due diligence for the largest independent international rating agencies, such as Standard and Poor’s, Fitch and Moody’s. She has taken part in structuring and restructuring of transactions and on the attraction of long-term funding from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Asian Development Bank (ADB), DEG, FMO.
In 2000 Gaukhar graduated as an economist from the Kazakh State Academy of Management, specialising in the securities market. Gaukhar also holds a bachelors degree from the Kazakh State Legal Academy and an LLM from the University of Leicester.
