Commercial tenants unable to pay rent due to the coronavirus will be protected from eviction.
The temporary measures announced by the government to be included in the Coronavirus Bill include that no business can be forced out of its premises for missing a rent payment. This measure will apply until at least 30 June 2020, although the government may extend this period if needed, and it applies to all commercial tenants across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
