Burlingtons advises on Only Fools and Horses musical

Head of media and entertainment Brian Eagles advises Paul Whitehouse on writer’s agreement for the new musical

Only Fools and Horses will be coming to London’s West End in February 2019 at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket. The new show has been co-written by Paul Whitehouse, who will also play Grandad, and Jim Sullivan, whose father John created the sitcom.

Burlingtons, led by head of media and entertainment Brian Eagles, acted for agent Alexandra Cann and Paul Whitehouse in relation to Paul’s agreement with show producer Phil McIntyre Entertainment Group to write the play and libretto.

Brian Eagles comments:

As in all contracts when acting for creators of copyright material, the main things we had to address and negotiate related to the details of the engagement to write, the writing fee, the basis upon which royalties are to be calculated and paid, royalty pooling, accounting and credit provisions etc. and possible changes to the work created by the writer which may be requested by the producer. The negotiations with Phil McIntyre and his team were, as usual, smooth and happily concluded.
